The Irish yet again footing the bill to be told we are racist
While working families are being crushed by soaring rents, brutal energy bills, and a collapsing healthcare system, the Irish State has found yet another way to waste your money. Their latest priority? Forcing the Irish taxpayer to fund a six-figure salary for an academic whose primary job is to tell you how structurally racist and unequal you are.
Following a parliamentary question from Rural Independent TD Carol Nolan, the mask has finally slipped on the government’s National Action Plan Against Racism. It has been revealed that Dr. Ebun Joseph, the State’s newly appointed Special Rapporteur on racism, has been handed a €100,000 stipend over four years.
But it doesn't stop there. The State is also providing her with two dedicated support staff and a hand-picked Advisory Committee, complete with civil service-rate travel and subsistence expenses.
While you are deciding whether to heat your home or pay for your groceries, the government is enthusiastically writing blank cheques to a grievance industry that exists to lecture you.
The Hypocrisy of "Systemic Barriers"
The sheer audacity of the government's narrative is breathtaking. The public is being told that Ireland is completely rigged, overflowing with "systemic barriers" designed to lock minorities out of the labor market.
Yet, the Special Rapporteur’s own wildly successful career destroys that very argument. Dr. Joseph has effortlessly navigated the most elite, privileged corridors of the Irish establishment. According to her public CV, she has simultaneously held lecturing positions at University College Dublin and Trinity College Dublin, acted as a career consultant for the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland, and served as CEO of her own consultancy firm.
She has built a lucrative empire within the highest echelons of Irish society, only to turn around and tell the native population that the system is institutionally biased against her. The only barrier in modern Ireland seems to be the one keeping ordinary, hard-working taxpayers away from this taxpayer-funded gravy train.
A Taxpayer-Funded Echo Chamber
No state-backed vanity project is complete without a committee of insiders, and Minister of State Joe O’Brien proudly announced an Advisory Committee representing a "cross-section of society."
Take one look at the roster, and it becomes painfully obvious what kind of "society" they mean. This is not a committee of ordinary workers, farmers, or small business owners. It is a VIP list of the state-funded NGO network, professional activists, and academic elites:
- The NGO Insiders: Patricia Munatsi and Shane O’Curry, both heavyweights in the European Network Against Racism (ENAR) Ireland.
- The Academics: Dr. Niloufar Omidi (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion at UL) and Dr. James Carr (a sociology professor known for his heavily funded reports on Islamophobia).
- The Political Class: Former Green Party Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Hazel Chu.
The Quango State is Laughing at You
This is not an advisory board; it is an ideological echo chamber, hand-picked to validate policies the government has already decided to ram down your throat.
The Quango State is expanding at an unprecedented rate, and it is laughing at the people paying for it. The government has utterly abandoned the working class, choosing instead to siphon public funds into the pockets of diversity officers, sociologists, and professional activists.
You are paying for the committee. You are paying the €100,000 stipend. You are paying the travel expenses. The Irish public is literally footing the bill to be investigated, monitored, and scolded by an elite class that looks down on them.
The real question is: How much more of this will the public take before they finally demand an end to the madness?
Had enough? Record it.
