Dublin’s city center has once again been rocked by shocking daytime violence, following an alleged stabbing on O'Connell Street Lower this afternoon.

The incident unfolded at approximately 4:30 PM, right on the capital's main thoroughfare. Emergency services and Gardaí rushed to the scene after an altercation broke out, leaving a man bloodied and requiring urgent medical attention.

The Incident: Witnesses reported a violent confrontation in the heart of the city in full view of weekend shoppers and commuters. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital with injuries currently described as non-life-threatening.

The Suspect: Eyewitness footage circulating from the scene confirms that the suspect involved is a foreign national.

The Arrest: Gardaí apprehended a man in his 40s at the scene. He is currently being held under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Dublin Metropolitan Region station.
